How the Pandemic Changed Me and Led Me to My Passion for Freelancing

As you may know, the pandemic has been a challenging time for many people around the world. It disrupted our everyday routines, forced us to adapt to new situations, and tested our resilience and creativity. For me, it was also a time of self-discovery and growth.

Before the pandemic, I worked as a customer service representative in a large BPO company here in Manila. While I enjoyed my job, I often felt stressed and unfulfilled. I only had a little time or energy for hobbies or passions outside of work. But when the pandemic hit and our company transitioned to remote work, everything changed.

At first, I was scared and uncertain about working from home. However, as the days went by, I began to enjoy the freedom and independence that came with remote work. As an introvert, I found that I thrived in the quiet pace of working from home. My manager even noticed that I had become more confident, resourceful, and independent.

Then, around 2021, a colleague shared with me how she and her husband were earning additional income through freelancing. I had heard about freelancing before but had never considered it seriously. However, with financial difficulties and the passing of my father in the midst of the pandemic, I knew I needed to find a new way to support my family.

I decided to take the leap into freelancing and started by purchasing my own laptop in February 2022. I began taking online courses to expand my skill set, focusing on topics like copywriting, graphic design, and social media management. I discovered that I had a natural talent for writing and creativity, which led me to start this very blog.

Through freelancing and blogging, I've discovered that I have many talents and skills that I can use to create value and make a difference in the world. The pandemic forced me to adapt to new situations and discover new ways of working and earning a living. It showed me that I am more than my job title or salary and that I have a lot to offer the world.

But my journey is not over yet. I am excited to continue learning and growing in my freelancing career and to see where it takes me. Whether it's copywriting, graphic design, or social media management, I am ready to use my skills and talents to make an impact in the world.

In conclusion, the pandemic changed my life in ways I never expected. It taught me to be more resilient, creative, and curious. It forced me out of my comfort zone and helped me discover my passion for freelancing and writing. If you're going through a tough time right now, know you're not alone.
